I have created this page for anyone that might be interested in this guitar. There are comments from the current owner, the original owner, and myself (the builder)
If I have learned one thing over the last 20 odd years doing this stuff, people like to have as much information and back story as possible.

'ROSE'

As written by the current owner:

For me, this guitar was the perfect answer to the needs of and within an expansive, improvisational, and experimental music journey.
Whether playing jazz, rock, or any other direction, the guitar provides and allows for on the fly, real-time adaptation due to it's
unique and extremely broad tonal range and onboard electronics for sonic modification options, voices, and textures. The extreme
range of the guitar allows for a broad, wide, and deep painting of the sonic spectrum. The 13 pin / midi option greatly expands the
possibilities even further for real-time expression. Overall, the tonal range is unparalleled in my experience. Warm jazzy tones,
crisp brights, and crunchy overdrives, and much much more. With all the options, and their brilliant set-up, I found the guitar to
be the ultimate intuitive extension. The feel, balance, weight, and especially Tims' amazing neck, are amazing and of the highest
quality and attention to details you will ever find, crafted by one of the great luthiers, Roses' creator, Tim Diebert. The knobs,
hardware, even the set of custom wound Timtone pickups, are stunning, as is the gorgeous finish. The beautiful custom hard case is
a plus as well.

'Rose' has been meticulously kept, loved, and cared for. Always stored in the case, and always in the studio. Free of smoke,
and humidity controlled. The guitar was mainly a recording instrument, and was played publicly twice. Once for a solo-concert in
a 300 year old Cathedral, and once in New York.

This guitar, like all of Tims' guitars, is a work of art.

As written by Tim on the original webpage when the guitar was first completed:

The idea with this project was to have something very different, yet something very pure and easy. Jose wanted to go for the classic Les Paul tone. As far as I am concerned, I nailed the the tonal requirements of this guitar. This thing sounds like a Les Paul, but different. Warm, thick...but not muddy. Defined with great character and sustain. This guitar kicks mucho big butt... and has a sweet song.
Now that I have made the T4S a couple of times, I am convinced that there is a tiny pinch of magic in the T4S body shape/recipe. They just have this certain character that I really like.

The original owners comments after having the guitar for a while:
(The original owners is Spanish and was not comfortable with me using his own writing....so I interpretted the email as you read it below)

Jose tells me he loves the way the guitar fits his body and his particular style of holding and playing an instrument. He likes the light weight of the guitar, yet it comes close to the true LP sound he was after. This project was created in order to have the uniqueness and comfort of the T4S and try and get the basic tonal vibe of the glorious Les Paul. Jose` says when A/B'd with a Les Paul, the T4S does not quite develop that dark low-end growl most often associated with the Gibson product. It gets close, but not an exact match. Having said that, this guitar makes many tones that most LP don't. He is very pleased with guitar, but was disappointed that it did not sound exactly like a Les Paul.

TIM: As I said to Jose` at the time, if we needed the exact sound of a Les Paul we should have made a Les Paul. Most Les Paul style instruments are thick and heavy, often in the 10 to 12 pound range. This T4S was laid out to approximate the Gibsonish vibe, but it weights in a mere 7 1/2lbs. Not even close. I personally felt that this guitar was a total success. I loved the sound of this guitar and have never played a Les Paul with anything near the character of this instrument, and yet approaching the LPs essential vibe. I would also never play an instrument that weighs as much as a LP, whatever tonal advantages there are are not important enough to justify to my back. Just my humble opinion though...

History:

The guitar was originally made for a fellow in Spain. The current owner bought it from someone in Portugal and it is now in the States. He is not sure if he is the 2nd owner or not. At some point after the initial delivery(maybe two years or so) the guitar was sent back to me for aditional electronics mods at the owners request. So it looks a little different in the images.

Specs:

Timtone T4S 'headless' model.
Scale length: 24 3/4"
Wood Species used: Walnut Body and neck. Big leaf Maple top. Cocobolo fingerboard.
Electronics: Originally this guitar was build with two vintage covered humbuckers. A few years later this guitar was sent back to me for some electronic options to be installed. I added a third single coil pickup, midi /piezos, and more switching options. See image below with the control functions described.
The guitar currently has Semor Duncans in it, I can't recall if these were the originals I built it with. I installed TT humbuckers when I modded it and they come with the guitar, though not installed.
