October 9th 2005.
Thanksgiving (Canadian) weekend. Zach has come home for a couple of days. Sunday we head out for a day on the lake. It was as windless as I have ever seen it here on Christina. We decided to slowly motor up north as Zach had not been up that way in years. The fall colours are spectacular and it was a nice warm day. We had a great day. Not much sailing, but it was relaxing and rejuvenating. The air was gloriously thick and pure. Smelled nice too.
Not much happened other than by the time we had a fire and were ready to leave, it was late and going to get dark during the trip home. A tiny breeze came up. We set the spinnaker and ghosted down the lake for about 40 minutes, then we had to eventually change to the big headsail. The 'wind' then died all together and we ended up motoring the last half of the way home. I have never sailed in the dark before. I have run my old runabout at night...but never sailed. This was fun and I would love to do a lot more more. Next year.
I guess the point of posting this page at all was because a lot of images came out of the day. ....and here they are.
